According to CNN, iconic fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld has passed away. For years, the man has shaped the way we look at fashion, turning Chanel around in the 1980s and transforming it into one of the most luxurious brands in the entire world. Lagerfeld was loved by many for his loud personality, appearing at every Chanel show in his iconic suit with those pitch black sunglasses. He had a look that has been mimicked by many but perfected by none. Karl Lagerfeld was truly an icon in the fashion world.
The German designer also worked with Fendi and at his own label, quickly becoming known as the most recognizable man in fashion. He left a mark on the world that will never be duplicated. The CEO of LVMH, the head of Louis Vuitton and Karl's main rival, has issued a statement on the icon's passing, writing, "We have lost a creative genius who helped to make Paris the fashion capital of the world, and Fendi one of the most innovative Italian houses. We owe him a great deal: his taste and talent were the most exceptional I have ever known."
He reportedly passed away after a short battle with cancer. Nobody could light up the room the way Karl Lagerfeld did. Rest in peace to a true fashion icon.
