There aren't too many things that Kanye West holds in a higher regard then art and family, so it's no surprise that he happily accepted a fan's portrait of his mother and child together. As you probably know, Donda West died in 2007 during a routine plastic surgery operation, so unfortunately, she never got to meet her granddaughter, North.
"Only One" was a song sung to Nori through the voice of West's late mother, and the artist's work is a fitting accompaniment to the song, depicting a smiling Donda holding North (who happens to be wearing a Yeezus shirt).
The creator of the piece, who goes by Perspektiv, is said to have approached Kanye and Kim on their way back to their SoHo apartment after they had attended the wedding of music exec Steve Stoute . A photo of the encounter shows Ye admiring the piece and carrying it off with him.
