Kanye West took to the stage for a second time on Saturday Night Live, and this time, he nailed the performance. His first act, which featured Lil Pump, "I Love It," and some awkward costumes, didn't hit the mark. West chose to bring Teyana Taylor out next, and the duo blessed fans with some new music.
The love-centric single starts with a Teyana Taylor verse and hook before Kanye steps in for a well-constructed verse. Entitled "We Got Love," it was left off of Taylor's K.T.S.E. album. Taylor's energy commands the stage, and her see-through shirt is sure to make headlines for the next week. The duo opted to keep it simple, with no graphics, costumes, lights, or projections. West spits about how love needs to be the new currency, and a choir joins in on the simplistic instrumental halfway through the track. The new single samples The Younghearts’ “We’ve Got Love (You Better Believe It)," and features a snippet of a speech from Lauryn Hill. "Above all you keep your clarity, you keep your focus," says Hill. "You keep your sense of love, and you keep your sense of purpose. Those are, they're integral. You know, they're key." West is expected to drop his third studio album of the year, entitled Yandhi, this weekend.
