While Tekashi 6ix9ine could be the most polarizing figure in rap right now, that title has belonged to Kanye West on more than one occasion. Kanye talks and we listen, giving him a platform as one of the most influential people in the world. Perhaps the man who a public audience is most divided about globally is Donald Trump. When Ye showed up at Trump Tower after Trump was nominated to become the next President of the United States, fans on both sides of the political spectrum went insane as right-wing conservatives praised the appearance and left-wing liberals shut it down.
Trump stated during their meeting that they had been "friends" for a long time and now, Kanye is taking things one step further by proclaiming his adoration of the man. With two albums coming out soon, talk about Kanye is incredibly high with many waiting for June impatiently. This morning, Hot 97 radio host Ebro noted that he had a conversation with Ye about his tweets on Candace Owens where the rapper stated his love for her way of thinking. Surprising some of his fans, many were confused at how he can support a woman who openly bashes the Black Lives Matter movement. Ebro and Peter Rosenberg said that with Kanye's "random loose tweets," he is not supporting an open dialogue as much as he thinks he is.
While Ebro and his colleagues seem convinced that Kanye is using his social media antics as promo to stir things up before his album drop, it's very likely that Kanye is simply writing what he believes. Rosenberg tweeted that, somewhere along the conversation, Ye told Ebro, "I love Donald Trump.” Check out the video from Hot 97 below.
