Jussie Smollett is facing some serious allegations that he staged his own attack earlier this year. Several people who've been standing by him have been distancing themselves. After reports surfaced that Smollett was being cut out of Empire, FOX issued a statement denying these claims.
FOX is standing by Smollett amid allegations that he staged his own attack. 20th Century Fox Television and Fox Entertainment won't be writing him out of the show nor will they be reducing his role.
“Jussie Smollett continues to be a consummate professional on set and as we have previously stated,” 20th Century Fox Television and Fox Entertainment told The Blast. They added that “he is not being written out of the show.”
Over the past few days, information has emerged from unknown police sources alleging that there's a sufficient amount of evidence proving that Smollett actually hired the two brothers to attack him. The Usondairo brothers were initially suspected for the crime but were released from police custody without any charges.
He recently agreed to meet with police after they requested a follow-up interview. This reportedly comes after the Usondairo brothers agreed to testify before a grand jury but Smollett's agreement to speak with police put the grand jury on hold.
