When most rappers head up to radio stations to lay down a freestyle, they spit a written. That doesn't mean most of those rappers can't freestyle, it just shows that writing and freestyling have become one monster. For example, we all know Kendrick can freestyle till the sun goes down. Still, recently leaked tracks prove that pieces of some of K. Dot's past freestyles were actually writtens. It doesn't take away from the allure of an artist, it just shows that the art of freestyling has evolved to encompass memoried verses along with off-the-head bars. The matrimony of writtens and freestyles has existed for decades.
Juice WRLD stopped by the Tim Westwood show once again this week, and proved that his freestyle skills reach far beyond writtens. The talented rapper sat and rapped over classic Eminem beats such as "Til' I Collapse," "Just Lose It," "My Name Is," and "Purple Pills" for 50 minutes straight. Although he may slip some writtens in there at some point, you can tell Juice WRLD is freestyling most of his bars. At certain points, he falls of momentarily as he contemplates his next rhyme scheme, and watching him connect the dots in his head in real time is a spectacle to watch. Check out the freestyle below.
