Joyner Lucas is one of the best lyricists from the new school, impressing all generations with his slick wordplay and quick-paced bars. The rapper never ceases to amaze and cater to different types of listeners. This weekend, he was given a major co-sign from one of his idols, Eminem, who named him on a list of the best rappers of all-time.
"For me, in no particular order... Toss up between wayne, pac, royce, jay, redman, treach, g. rap, biggie, & king crook," wrote Em on Twitter before expanding. "Plus redman, LL, nas, joyner, kendrick, cole, andre, rakim, kane..."
The remark got back to Joyner Lucas, who was elated to see that his biggest influence sees him as such an impactful voice in hip-hop.
"If you played ball and studied Michael Jordan as the greatest, and then Michael Jordan name drops you as one of the greatest ball players of all time. That’s how this feels to me," wrote the Massachusetts native on Instagram.
Joyner and Eminem have collaborated together in the studio several times and Em has seen the rapper in his element. His skills behind the microphone are obvious and, with the release of ADHD, he got to show the world his gift. Hopefully, we get even more representation of his greatness in the years to come.
