John Cena and Dwayne Johnson have a few things in common. They both started as wrestling stars who became legendary in their field. They both crossed over into Hollywood, and now they are both working on a film together. As reported by Variety, and announced by Johnson, Cena has been cast to star in The Janson Directive.
"Congrats man and I’m excited to go on this journey with you," wrote Johnson on an Instagram post where he also reassures Cena that everything better go according to plan. "Thank you for your commitment to the role and remember, as your producer if you screw up, I’m coming to set and droppin’ the People’s Elbow on ya."
Johnson was expected to star in the film himself, which he is producing with Dany Garcia through their Seven Bucks Productions company. Due to the fact that Johnson is already starring in several movies a year, he decided to find another leading man for the film while sitting in the executive's chair.
The plot of the film sounds like something that Cena could easily pull off. He will play a retired covert operations agent who starts a business as a private security consultant who aims to help those in need.
