Last year, John Cena proposed to his girlfriend Nikki Bella during Wrestlemania 33. Bella said yes in front of millions of viewers worldwide, and made Cena the happiest man on the planet. Between then and now, trouble seems to have brewed in paradise. In a post to Instagram, Nikki confirmed that the two were splitting up after being together for six years.
“After much contemplation and 6 years of being together Nikki Bella and John Cena announced today their decision to separate as a couple,” stated Nikki on the post. “While this decision was a difficult one, we continue to have a great deal of love and respect for one another. We ask that you respect our privacy during this time in our lives.” She captioned the post with "We love you all ❤️," addressing the fans that are heartbroken by the news.
John Cena seemingly confirmed the break up on his own Instagram when he posted a meme of The Simpsons character "Comic Book Guy" using one of his most popular catchphrases.
Cena also took to Twitter and seemingly vented about the break-up.
