Jay-Z has always had a close affiliation with sports, whether it's shout-outs in his songs, or owning a percentage of the Brooklyn Nets. Now the rapper will be tightening his affiliation with the all things sports, with the announcement of Roc Nation Sports, a full service sports-management company.
Never one to start off small, Hov has already signed Yankees' second baseman, Robinson Cano, according to the NYPost. The representation of Cano is a partnership between Roc Nation Sports and CAA Sports.
The sports-management company will be lead by Jay-Z, with Juan Perez serving as the president, and you can be sure there will be more details on it in the coming months. For now, Hov released the following statement, "Because of my love of sports, it was a natural progression to form a company where we can help top athletes in various sports the same way we have been helping artists in the music industry for years."
