A day after being spotted in NY filming a music video with French Montana and Fabolous, Jay Critch announced the release date for his long-awaited debut Hood Favorite. In a post sent out to his 112,000 Twitter followers, Jay Critch affixed the date "11.2" above a picture of the project's cover art.
The project was initially scheduled to drop in July, then he later updated his fans on Instagram they'd to endure another delay (until August) only now to finally confirm the date with specificity, on the second day of November. The reasons for the subsequent delays remain unclear, but no one is adamant that Jay rush the final product, considering it does mark a "debut solo presentation idea" for the Brooklynite. For one thing, the Hood Favorite has exceeded the buildup to Rich Forever 4, which for all intents and purposes, is a project standing on two hind legs, for all we know.
Jay Critch is emerging as an exciting project in the NY rap game, next to A Boogie Wit Da hoodie, Tekashi, Dave East, Sheck Wes, Joey Bada$$, ZillaKami, and the folks in World's Fair. Outside of the singles and videos Critch released in the spring-summer, Hood Favorite remains a bit of an "unknown pleasure" for us to discover come November.
