Jada Pinkett Smith sat down for on Extra to promote her upcoming Facebook Watch talkshow Red Table Talk. During the conversation, the Girls Trip star reveals how she and fellow actress Gabrielle Union had been engaged in a secret 17-year feud with one another.
Pinkett Smith admits that she does not know how their long-standing disagreement came about, noting "we don't even know how it started!" Whatever the catalyst may be, it effectively resulted in the two stars not speaking to one another for almost two decades.
However, the actress invited Gabrielle Union to take part in an episode that helped abolish their bad blood towards one another. "When the producers said we want to do a girlfriends show, her name just kept coming up," she reveals. "It just couldn’t be anything else."
Red Table Talk will feature Pinkett Smith's mother Adrienne Banfield-Norris and daughter Willow Smith as cohosts. The series is centred around "raw truth, love and deep passion. My mother is old school, Willow is new school, and I find myself right in the middle. I’ve done a lot of sharing and growing on Facebook. Being able to engage with the Facebook Watch community in such a deeply personal way is amazing, and I’m excited to be part of something new."
