Fans of legendary producer and Detroit icon J. Dilla have reason to rejoice. A new instrumental album called Motor City has surfaced, featuring nineteen unreleased instrumentals from the late pioneer. The tape was personally curated by Dilla's mother, Ma Dukes Yancey, who sequenced the album as a letter to her son. The album also serves as a homage to Detroit, the place where Dilla came up and changed the game, earning respect from local legends like Eminem and Royce Da 5'9". The album concludes with an alternate mix from Stone's Throw alum J. Rocc.
You can stream Motor City on Apple Music and Spotify.
