Other than showing public support for his friend and lightning rod for the hate of NFL fans, Colin Kaepernick, J. Cole has been mostly silent when it comes to making moves with his music, either as an emcee or producer. However, that changed in a big way last night, when the "Neighbors" rapper was spotted a studio session picture that was shared by none other than Swizz Beatz, one of the genre's all-time production wizards.
Captioning the photo with "Told you I'm in Album mode !!!! @realcoleworld good vibes and Magic Zone☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️ the graduation is over," Swizz Beatz looks to have at least one track with Cole on the way as part of his next full-length effort. No release date, for that song or the album in general, has been hinted at by Swizzy or his management team, but it's safe to say that the finished product will be intriguing at the very least.
A diverse talent behind the board, Mr. Dean has always been someone who can generate some solid instrumentals for either his own solo work or other artists who are in need of a beefed-up sound. With J. Cole on board as presumably one of the individuals lending their vocal talents to the record, it will also be interesting to see what kind of talent crops up on other tracks. Will Swizz Beatz side with proven, veteran talent, or will be prefer to use younger, lesser-known artists with high levels of potential? Only time will tell.
The last time Swizz Beatz saw his name at the top of the hip-hop rumor conversation was when he kicked off an epic beat battle with fellow production legend Timbaland back in August. It's been a while since we've seen any new video material demonstrating that the war is still being waged between the pair's instrumental work, but at the end of the day, it was fun to see these two heavyweights go toe-to-toe, or rather beat-to-beat.
