Issa Rae is on a hot streak. According to Variety, the creator and star of "Insecure" has been renewed with HBO for a second season of ten episodes. Based on Rae's hit web series "Awkward Black Girl," "Insecure" was co-created by Larry Wilmore, host of the short-lived "Nightly Show."
HBO Programming Director Casey Bloys praised the show for connecting with audiences and "raising the questions" the show's creator "set out to raise." Bloys added “The social interaction on ‘Insecure’ is really strong.”
