The upcoming Fast & Furious spinoff dubbed Hobbs & Shaw starring Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham is working on the final details to secure Idris Elba as the movies main villain, Variety reports. David Leitch who directed the second installment of Deadpool 2 will be leading the film that will follow the at odd pair teaming up to take down Idris’ antagonist character.
Back when the spin-off was announced it brought on some anger from other FF castmates like Tyrese who had all kinds of negative things to say. “At the end of the day, the only thing I want to do is make a great movie for the fans,” Dwayne said. “I never ever get wrapped up in the sludge of the bulls— that can be connected at times to a franchise. So I never get dragged into it. I never respond to any of that.”
He added: “It’s been a challenging process because I feel like my intention from day one, when I first joined the cast, was to hopefully come in, have fun, and create a character that people will hopefully like and try to elevate the franchise.”
There's been no set date for the release of the movie.
