Halloween weekend was a big one for new music, more specifically for Chris Brown and the talented trio that is Metro Boomin, Offset and 21 Savage.
Chris dropped his 45-song album, Heartbreak on a Full Moon on October 31st and the rap trio dropped Without Warning on the same day but revealed the news the day before.
Billboard has now just announced the first week sales for both projects and more. According to the publication, Breezy's album hit No. 3 on the Top 200 Album charts moving 68,000 units and 25,000 of those being true album sales. This marks Chris' ninth time visiting the top 10 list on the Billboard charts.
Without Warning debuted at No. 4 on the chart racking up 53,000 units and 11,000 of those being album sales. This is 21ās second top 10 debut counting his last success from his project Issa Alum, that hit No. 2 on the charts after its July premiere. Offset and his rap trio, Migos, hit No. 1 with their January release of Culture, making Metro new to the Billboard success.
Another notable mention comes from Big K.R.I.T. and Yo Gotti.
Yo Gotti hit No. 6 from I Still Am with 38,000 units moved and 19,000 traditional sales. K.R.I.T hit No. 7 on the countdown with is the latest drop 4eva Is a Mighty Long Time. The album moved 33,000 units with a total of 21,000 traditional sales.
Chris is sitting pretty with the top spot among his hip-hip competitors. He previously expressed his frustration in an Instagram post where he wasn't pleased with the fact that he would be loosing out on two days to count album sales due to the day his album dropped. In a lengthy caption, he said, "So Iām hearing that I will only be credited for 3 days of sales for my first week. DONT UNDERSTAND how that is...š. Just like the 9 platinum plaques RIAA Just dropped out of the sky this year(not including the 3 that I just received for HOAFM singles). (10 platinums =š)."
He ended the post with, ".... FUCK IT, either way Iām thankful for the support. ā¤ļø"
Clearly, the positivity worked as he's still at the top of the charts and is familiar with the position.
