We've already come to understand that a heavyweight like Gucci Mane has producers lining up for a shot at collaboration. Now, speaking with Zane Lowe to promote his upcoming Evil Genius album, Guwop shed some light on his future plans; he legendary rapper confirmed he landed beats from Metro Boomin, Southside, and Honorable C.N.O.T.E. "I just really wanted to just have a chance to almost make a mixtape worth of songs with all the producers that I like," says Gucci. "I picked maybe like 60 or 70 songs. I usually just take twenty songs and put them out but this time I really recorded a bunch of songs and then picked through them." Sounds like he really took his time with this one, which might explain the uncharacteristically long delay.
If the stacked producer lineup isn't enough, Gucci promises an equally impressive roster of guest talent. To be fair, many of which can be deemed the usual suspects, but if it ain't broke. "'Ive got a dope record with Offset. I've got a crazy song with Quavo," says Gucci, leaving us wondering where that Takeoff feature is. "I’ve got a song with 21 Savage. I got one with Kevin Gates. I got one with NBA Young Boy."
While we have yet to receive a release date, the arrival of new single "Kept Back" seems to suggest it will be arriving sooner than later. Stay
