In the discussion of who the greatest rapper is to have ever graced the stage, many names are thrown around. The title of rap's Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant is usually attributed to Pac and Big, based mainly on their influence. While many can legitimately throw their name in the hat for the representation of hip-hop's greatest, a certain level of experience and a whole lot of talent is needed to be awarded a gold medal in the history of rap music. One of Atlanta's finest has just included his name on the ballot as Gucci Mane had a sudden realization yesterday that he is the G.O.A.T.
Sharing a teaser for the upcoming "Solitaire" music video with the Migos and Lil Yachty, Gucci came to the conclusion that he is, indeed, the greatest of all time. While the debate between he and T.I. over who invented trap music may have come to a halt, Guwop is making bolder claims that he is the G.O.A.T. and they may not be as audacious as we believe. After years in the game, we have witnessed different stages to Wop's career from before he went to prison and after his release, showing different sides to his character and evolving before the public's eyes. While it will undoubtedly be challenged that he is the greatest to pick up a mic, he is respectably among the top tier of talent when it comes to the last two decades' crop of rappers.
Do you think there is any validity to Gucci's claims? Where does he rank on your list?
