Gloria Govan is suing her ex-husband for defamatory claims made against her.

Since their divorce, Matt Barnes and Gloria Govan have not had the greatest of relationships. You'll recall Barnes driving nearly 100 miles just to beat up Derek Fisher after he found out the then-New York Knicks head coach was involved romantically with his estranged wife. Matt and Gloria officially divorced in December 2016 and, since then, they have not exactly been the best of friends. While the two have a pair of children together, it appears as though the parents cannot stand each other and now, Govan is filing a lawsuit against her ex-husband for defamation.

According to The Blast, the lawsuit stems from Matt Barnes publicly dragging her name on social media, tarnishing her reputation and affecting her ability to book work. The most notable claim cited in the suit is a post that Barnes made about his ex-wife stealing money from him and misusing his child support payments. Govan, an original cast member of Basketball Wives, claims that the statements made by the former NBA player have continued to harm her reputation, causing her much humiliation and lost opportunities. Barnes is fighting back, filing documents that claim that his statements have always been based on his opinion without any defamatory roots.

This is just the latest development in a series of events that seem to keep going further downhill for the former couple. Recently, Govan got engaged to Barnes' former nemesis Derek Fisher and Matt responded cordially. We will update you as details become clear.
