The original cast of the female-led comedy, Girls Trip, will be reunited for another adventure. Jada Pinkett Smith, Tiffany Haddish, Regina Hall and Queen Latifa will be living it up in theaters sooner than fans expected.
Regina hall confirmed the upcoming production during an interview.
“We’re trying to make [a sequel] happen. So we’re trying to get everything together with the schedule. I think they’re working on something. I don’t know where we’re going. I don’t know where the girls are going, but… we’re going somewhere.”
Queen Latifa had said she was expecting this production back in June.
“We’re actually working it all out. I know they’re writing it and we’re all down, so it’s just a matter of time. We’re just waiting for a script, script, script, script, script, script.”
Jada Pinkett had previously expressed her enthusiasm facing the idea of a second installment.
“We’ve talked about doing a sequel, so we’ll see if it happens, but I think with the success of the movie it will happen … It’s just done $30 million at the weekend, so I’m so proud. They’re saying that we’ve taken rated R comedies out of their slump so it’s a nice moment for us for sure."
