George Floyd was killed by Derek Chauvin in a now-viral video.

George Floyd's story is a tragic one. He was killed on camera by a police officer in Minneapolis by the name of Derek Chauvin. Since the video went viral on social media, there have been protests all across the country and it seems as though things aren't going to deescalate anytime soon. People have been calling for the arrest of Chauvin and the other officers involved and now, at least part of that wish has finally happened.

Derek Chauvin was arrested and recently, it was revealed that he was charged with 3rd-degree murder as well as manslaughter. According to reporter Theo Keith, Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman has announced that he expects some of the other officers involved to also be arrested and face consequences.

For those who have been following this story closely, it was recently reported that Chauvin and Floyd actually had a history together as they used to work security at the exact same establishment. Not to mention, it has been documented that Chauvin had numerous complaints filed against him for other alleged acts of police brutality.
