Gayle King's getting praised for her poise.

Gayle King is the talk of the town right now since she's being praised for her chill composure during her interview with R. Kelly, where he cried, screamed, flailed and snotted his way through a few of his statements. The CBS television host has now paid a visit to The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to discuss the trending interview and how she wasn't scared of R. Kelly.

“We’ve seen him storm out of interviews before, so I thought he was going to do that. I was thinking, I’m not done with my questionsWhat can I do to save this interview?” Gayle explained of Kelly's outburst. “I decided that if I sat there quietly, make eye contact with him, he would know I’m not going anywhere, that I’m just waiting for him to finish whatever this is.”

She added: "So what I was really thinking to myself was: I'm not done with this interview, so I'm going to let him have his moment. If I stood up even to comfort him, that could have been his invitation to say 'This is over.' So I didn't interrupt his anger and let him have that."
