Accidents happen all the time in television. This season, Game Of Thrones has been praised for its extreme attention to detail, carefully building deep plot points and ensuring that everything you see on screen is there for a reason. When you were watching last night's episode of the HBO series, you likely did not notice a small error that was left in for the finished product. With two episodes left to air, the producers of the ultra-popular show made a huge mistake and accidentally left a Starbucks cup in one of the scenes, committing a cardinal mise-en-scene sin.
As reported by TMZ, Game Of Thrones somehow made one of the simplest mistakes that you can in the world of television and film. Despite spending millions of dollars to shoot some of the best scenes we've ever witnessed on the small screen, nobody noticed that a coffee cup was in plain view during the fourth episode of the final season. The cup can be seen at the 17:38 mark while Dany observes Jon Snow.
To our knowledge, there is no Starbucks in Winterfell. This is obviously a misguided error that went over everybody's heads but as noted, everybody is at risk of committing an accident. Even one of the biggest productions in television history.
