Those of you who don't spend hours in front of the television might not be aware, but real estate and home renovation is a really big seller. There are countless shows where people purchase, renovate, or sell property, and viewers seem to eat it up.
But now celebrities are trying to get in on the property action. According to The Boombox, Being Mary Jane actress Gabrielle Union and Miami Heat shooting guard Dwyane Wade will be premiering their own home renovation special, which will air on HGTV on April 12th.
Union took the announcement to Instagram, posting a picture of the couple holding some pruners and a paint roller. In the post, she writes, "Taking my recent real estate obsession to the next level and getting our hands dirty."
The whole thing was apparently Union's idea, saying in a statement that, "Ever since we renovated our house a few years ago, I've been a little real-estate obsessed," adding that, "It took a while, but I finally convinced Dwyane that we should try flipping a house."
The show will follow the couple as they scout, purchase, renovate, and flip the house, which is located in Miami. All the proceeds from the house will be donated to an as-of-yet unnamed charity.
That was apparently the hook to get Dwyane to agree to the show, stating "we're doing it to raise money for charity," adding, "So how could I say no?"
If you've got a thing for home renovations or are just a huge Miami Heat fan, you might want to check out the special when it airs on April 12.
