Future finally got a taste of the Platinum life when his joint effort with Drake, What A Time To Be Alive, was certified Platinum in March. This past month he added another notch to that Platinum belt, with his solo album Dirty Sprite 2 reaching the million copies sold mark.
Despite being one of the most influential voices and styles in rap presently, Future has had a struggle with mainstream sales in the past. DS2, which followed up a mixtape of the same name, proved to change his somewhat flat sales streak, after moving 147,000 units opening week-- more than doubling the sales he did with his first two albums respectively, Pluto and Honest.
Congratulations to Future on his first solo Platinum-certified album! Let's hope he keeps the momentum going in the rest of 2016, which, knowing Future, he probably will.
