French Montana continues to make waves wherever he goes. The rapper was born in Morocco and immigrated to the Bronx as a child. He's traveled around the world and like most people in the rap industry, has made Miami a staple city in his life. From the breezy weather, beautiful beaches and equally beautiful people, it seems to be a place that's not only known for it's extravagant party scene but also somewhere that fuels high creative energy. At the REVOLT Music Conference, the Miami's Mayor, Phillip Levine, honored the rapper in a special way.
Mayor Phillip Levine announced during the opening day of RMC that October 12th is now officially dubbed "French Montana Day." The REVOLT Music Conference is currently being held at Eden Roc Miami Beach Resort. French Montana was nothing short of excited and thanked Diddy as well as the mayor. He reposted a picture from Diddy's Instagram with the caption, "thank you big bro @diddy and a special thanks to Miami Beach Mayor Philip Levine RepostBy @diddy: "You get back what you put into it!! It’s official October 12th is now @frenchmontana day in South Beach, Miami!!!"
The Mayor previously dubbed October 13th "Sean Diddy Combs Day." This year, they handed over a 100-year coin to the Bad Boy CEO. Diddy's also been handed the keys to Miami in the past. The REVOLT Instagram account posted a series of photos of Diddy receiving the coin with the caption "Wow, @Diddy can’t even get any more keys to Miami, so the mayor just blessed him with a 100 year coin AND @FrenchMontana officially got his own day!!" Miami isn't the only place where Diddy has been acknowledged for his efforts. The Mayor of Chicago previously dubbed October 13th as "Diddy Day" in the Windy City.
French and Diddy join a few other rappers who've been honored with their own day in the 305. Back in 2016, the Mayor of Miami dubbed January 16th as "DJ Khaled Day." The Miami Mayor also announced is 2010 that August 4th is "Rick Ross Day."
