Freddie Gibbs and Madlib, known as the dynamic rapper-producer duo, MadGibbs, have kept fans on their toes for the release of their follow-up to 2014's Pinata. The critically acclaimed collaborators began teasing the release of the highly anticipated project with the first single, "Tummy Tea," subsequently followed by the title track of Bandana. Unfortunately, every time Gibbs teased a release, it seemingly got pushed back. In March, he said it was dropping in April shortly after the release of a third single which has yet to arrive. Then, he said it would drop in May but I can assure you, that isn't happening either.
Freddie Gibbs and Madlib detailed their upcoming project, Bandana to EW, revealing some new info on what we could expect from MadGibbs. For starters, the publication revealed that the album is "out in June." Secondly, Bandana will serve as the second installment in a trilogy of MadGibbs albums.
The duo may not strategize when it comes to making music together, but they do have one thing planned; a third album. "Piñata, Bandana and Montana. It's a trilogy," says Gibbs.
Bandana is expected to feature Pusha T, Killer Mike, Black Thought, Yasiin Bey, and Anderson .Paak. They haven't shared the actual tracklist yet so it's entirely possible there are more features on the project that haven't been announced yet.
