If there's one thing hip-hop fans can unanimously agree on, it's that the game could always use a new album from Freddie Gibbs. As of yesterday, it was revealed that Gibbs and Alchemist, who has been absolutely murderous behind the boards of late, would be firing off a collaboration album called Alfredo this Friday. If that wasn't enough, it's set to feature appearances from Tyler, The Creator, Rick Ross, Benny, The Butcher, and Conway The Machine -- suffice it to say, the album of the year conversation is about to widen significantly.
Now, Freddie and Alc have come through to provide the first look at Alfredo by way of lead single "1985," a year also highlighted by J. Cole in recent memory. Taking to some psychedelic guitar-driven production, the likes of which would be the perfect backdrop for a desert highway cruise, Gibbs absolutely snaps with a barrage of heavy lines. "Michael Jordan nineteen eighty-five bitch I travel with a cocaine circus," he declares. "Put the machinations on your clown-ass, catch a n***a up and leave him down bad."
Be sure to check out the track right now, and sound off with your Alfredo hype below -- do you think it's fair to call Freddie Gibbs one of, if not the, illest lyricist in the game right now?
