Sad news is coming out of the actor world today as it was reported that comedic legend Fred Willard passed away at the age of 86. Willard was in a ton of tv shows and movies, including "Anchorman" where he got to portray Ron Burgundy's news director.
Willard was also in shows like "Modern Family," "Ally McBeal," "Family Guy," and "Family Matters," while acting in big movies such as "American Wedding," "Harold And Kumar Go To White Castle," "WALL-E," and even "Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me."
Today, his daughter Hope issued a statement on his passing, saying: "My father passed away very peacefully last night at the fantastic age of 86 years old. He kept moving, working and making us happy until the very end. We loved him so very much. We will miss him forever."
Willard was mostly known for roles in which his character was always smarter than those around him. He would be unaware of the antics of the other characters and always had to deal with their shenanigans. This was very much apparent in his "Anchorman" performances.
The actor was married to his wife Mary for 50 years from 1968 until 2018 when she sadly passed away.
RIP to a man who has brought laughs to many people's lives.
