Earlier today, the music world was sent into a frenzy when Frank Ocean seemingly updated his Tumblr account to tease a new song with Kendrick Lamar, SZA and Andre 3000. Since Frank literally does not ever release music, this was obviously too good to be true. Now, reports are circulating that his account was actually hacked and given the fact that the posts have been deleted, it makes sense.
According to Complex, the cryptic message that Frank Ocean sent out this morning may not have come directly from him. The publication writes that his page was hacked after or while the Kendrick, SZA and Andre 3000 announcement was made, leaving the upcoming single's fate in jeopardy. I guess time will tell if we really are getting some new Frank Ocean on March 1...
The hack involved a few posts going up on Ocean's Tumblr with one actually making reference to the song. "If this post gets 25,000 likes I will release the Frank Ocean song featuring andre, kendrick and sza (it’s a legit song)," writes the hacker. The post links to an Instagram account belonging to somebody named Patryk Ladniak in Poland. A second upload reads, "‘SpirDark’. 2019 Comeback (soon). Nobody is safe. Email me if you’re interested in buying unreleased Frank songs."
Obviously, this reduces the chances that a collaboration between the four artists is legitimate. Hopefully, it ends up being true.
