Last year, Flo Rida began to tease plans for the arrival of his fifth studio album, citing in July that the effort was 70 percent finished. This year, the club anthem veteran has been rolling out a stream of singles that have failed to stick the landing in relation to the other chart-topping hits of his career.
The latest in the string though, may show promise, as it reverts back to the Carol City rapper’s winning formula. The track “Sweet Sensation” first arrived in March of this year, pulling a sample from the late Loleatta Holloway’s iconic “Love Sensation” song. On it, Flo Rida delivers on trademark infectious lyrics: “It's a vibe, it's a vibe/Rockin' the champagne flute, hit the lights/Feelin' like a damn good time to be alive/You lookin' like a snack, shawty, pull it to the side,” and most recently supplemented the cut with summer-appropriate visuals.
