FAT TREL was finally released from jail earlier this week. After being locked up for over a year, the D.C. rapper took to Instagram to announce his freedom. While he was locked up, he continued to feed the streets with bangers. Today, he unleashes the first track since being back, "First Day Out (Fuck 12)."
Throughout the course of the song, TREL tackles the trials and tribulations he faced during his time in prison as well as his overall dislike for the police. It's a detailed song where TREL addresses the loyalty of the ones that surround him while he was imprisoned and goes into detail about the arrest that led to his incarceration. While the MMG rapper was still feeding the streets throughout his imprisonment, "First Day Out" draws you into some of the thoughts he was facing while locked up. Over some soulful production from Yung Lan, the rapper drops an incredible introspective piece of work. It's a solid re-introduction from Fat Trel after being locked up and we hope this is an indication of new music that he has coming.
TREL's arrest was due to narcotics distribution as well as DWI, speeding and driving with a revoked license. A few weeks prior to that, he got arrested for using counterfeit money at a casino. It was definitely a harsh 2016 for TREL. However, now that he's back, it looks like he's ready to keep trucking forward. It didn't take him too long to release his first track since being a free man so hopefully, we'll be getting more music from him as the weeks go by.
Welcome home TREL.
