We've been rocking with Deniro Farrar for over six years, keeping track of his come-up and witnessing his growth from the front row. The North Carolina artist is now recognized as one of the most successful rappers out of his city, joining the ranks of J. Cole, DaBaby, and others. Last year, he only released a trio of songs and he recognizes the entirety of 2018 as a low point in his career and life. Deniro went to barber school because he was fully prepared to give up on his creative dreams, noting that he had lost personal momentum. He stopped by the office to chat about that moment in his life, also touching on his high points.
Deniro Farrar went on tour with Denzel Curry recently, also helping out the Florida-based spitter with his health and fitness. Deniro actually worked as Zeltron's personal trainer, scouting all of the available vegan options in each city they would visit and coming up with intense plans for their gym sessions. "When you're serious about something, you're gonna map that shit out," said Farrar about his extensive search for healthy alternatives. "My lifestyle ain't gonna be contingent upon what city I'm in. Like, I'ma figure it out. Where the fuck can I eat? I'ma figure that out."
As for his thoughts on the current climate of North Carolina rap, Deniro tells us that this is just the beginning of what we're going to witness. He says that there are talented individuals hidden so deep in cities like Charlotte and that when their wave hits, we're in for a treat.
