Can't leave rap alone the game needs him. Even if many turned their backs on Em after Revival, his presence never fails to stir up excitement. Last we heard from Marshall Mathers was the "Chloraseptic Remix," which seemed like a promising glimmer of things to come. Now, the legend has been busy touring the festival circuit while simultaneously discovering how to properly navigate a smartphone. In the interim, he's found time to revisit the studio, linking up with Dr. Dre for what we can only hope is a collaboration. Admittedly, we're not sure if Em has been working on a new project, but it seems like he still has something to say.
Today, the rapper has continued his spree of dad-selfies, while simultaneously affirming that he is indeed still in the studio. This time, in lieu of Dre, Em has linked up with his "talented friend Jessie." While some have been pondering over the identity of the mysterious Jessie, rapper Classified replied to Em, seeming to confirm her as singer Jessie Reyez. With that in mind, it seems likely that Eminem will continue to work with pop-inclined singers, for better or worse. On one hand, it's hard not to want more of "Framed" Eminem. On the other, perhaps it's time to simply let the man live. He's given us enough.
Either way, it's good to see Em back in the studio, and even better to see him wresting control of his social media from the powers that be.
