Eminem is currently in the midst of an Australian tour, complete with additional stops over in New Zealand. During a record-breaking show in Wellington's Westpac Stadium, Em took a moment to issue a PSA of sorts, pertaining to his favored concert attire. As he tells it, there's a method to the madness - his fondness for lining his shirts with iconic rap album covers is meant to serve an educational purpose.

"You know, this was called the Rapture tour. But originally, it was going to be called the 'Rap Shirt' tour. I'ma tell you why," says Em, tapping his current shirt of choice - Masta Ace's Slaughterhouse. "There's a reason I do this, every single night on stage man. Hopefully, some of ya'll might go buy their albums. Might go look em' up. Maybe you don't know who Masta Ace was, or Kool G Rap. I feel like you need to know because what they did for hip-hop is so fu*king incredible because they made it go to that next level. These are the rappers that inspired me, man. On some real shit."
Clearly, Eminem understands the importance of hip-hop history. Hopefully, some of his younger fans can leave his concerts feeling inspired to do their research, especially if they profess to love the culture on a deeper level. Respect is a must.
