Eminem says being introduced by Parkland Shooting survivor was "an inspiration and an honor."

The iHeartRadio Music Awards last night were home to memorable performances, notable awards and unexpected announcements. Among those performing, Eminem tore the house down, showing off exactly why he became the first rapper to move over 100 million song units in history. Marshall enlisted Kehlani to sing "Nowhere Fast," a track from his latest album Revival that details the current state of the country and slamming the NRA. It was only appropriate, given the content of Em's lyrics, for Parkland Shooting survivor Alex Moscou to introduce the rap God, along with fellow Detroit rapper Big Sean.

Moscou gave a touching speech beforehand, saying, "On February 14th, a gunman armed with a legally purchased semi-automatic rifle murdered 17 people at my high school, Marjory Stoneman Douglas in Parkland, Florida. We're tired of hearing politicians send their thoughts and prayers to us and doing nothing to make the necessary changes to prevent this tragedy from happening again." Eminem took to Instagram to say that he was inspired and honored by Moscou's introduction, and directly quoting part of the student's words. Em's captions reads, "#NOWHEREFAST @KEHLANI #IHEARTAWARDS "We are going to be too loud for them to ignore” - Alex Moscou."

Eminem's performance was one of the strong points of the show, offering his brand of realness to compliment a movement of students who have been nothing but authentic in their efforts to move things forward when it comes to gun control in America.
