Last week, several videos of Lesandro “Junior” Guzman-Feliz's murder began to circulate online. Guzman-Feliz, who was only 15 years old, is seen being dragged from a bodega in the Bronx onto the street. As he's fighting for his life, the attackers begin to beat and stab him repeatedly. The suspects flee after fatally stabbing Guzman-Feliz, who ran to the hospital but collapsed and died not far from the entrance. A manhunt for Guzman-Feliz's killers began immediately, and yesterday (June 26) an eighth suspect was arrested by police.
According to the New York Post, six of the suspects were captured in Paterson, New Jersey, but were ordered back to New York to stand trial. Danel Fernandez, Joniki Martinez, Jose Muniz, Jose Taverez, Manuel Rivera and Santiago Rodriguez were extradited on Sunday. A seventh suspect, Kevin Alvarez, was arrested in the Bronx on Monday. The latest suspect, Elvin Garcia, was charged with murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon. NYPD Chief of Detectives Dermot Shea announced the latest arrest, stating, “The brutal nature of this crime, we will leave literally no stone unturned until we make sure that we get justice and we make sure that everyone involved in this incident are brought to justice."
