Dwight Howard and his past sexual exploits have been a large source of Twitter jokes and ridicule over the last year or so. While no one should really care about Howard does in his free time, his status as a bit time NBA player has made him a target of all of the memes. It seems as though Howard can't escape the rumors surrounding him, as last month, a gay YouTube star by the name of Masin Elije sued Howard for assault, infliction of emotional distress and more. He claims that Howard's friends began to threaten him for not signing an NDA in regards to their relationship.
Now, Howard is alleging that his relationship with Elije never happened and is even suing the YouTuber for $10 million in a new countersuit. According to Bossip, the lawsuit is for libel, slander, invasion of privacy and abusive litigation. The statements within the court documents blast Elije, whose real name is Maurice Singletary, for being a liar.
“Mr. Howard is an upstanding citizen in all respects,” Howard’s counterclaim explains. “Unfortunately, his public life and generosity have made him the target of the plaintiff as unrelenting and hostile smear campaign. And Maurice Singletary continues to aggressively harass, threaten, call and text Mr. Howard and besmirch his reputation on various social media platforms.”
Howard is currently asking for a jury trial for his countersuit. Stay tuned for more updates on this case.
