Talks of the gender wage gap have been at the top of several debates in 2018. A recent report by TMZ isn't going to help those arguing that it doesn't exist. According to the media sites sources, Dwayne Johnson will be making more than double the amount his co-star Emily Blunt will be making in Disney's Jungle Cruise. The film, which is based off an amusement park ride (much like Pirates of the Carribean), will pay out Johnson a hefty $22 million for his role while Blunt will walk with a meek $9 million.
Now before you assume that Johnson has a greater acting resume, we should look at the film's Blunt has starred in. She is currently starring in Disney's Mary Poppins sequel as the titular character. She's also starred in A Quiet Place, Sicario, Edge of Tomorrow, The Five-Year Engagement,
Looper, The Devil Wears Prada, and a long list of other hit movies. Blunt is also a Golden Globe winner and 5-time nominee. Dwayne Johnston does command the box office though, with hits like Fast & The Furious, Jumanji, Moana, Pain & Gain, and The Rundown among many others helping him reach a net worth of over $120 million. Jungle Cruise hits theaters in October 2019.
