Draya Michele has claimed a new movie role in We Belong Together, the first original film by the BET Network. The film is set to debut on the channel later this month.
We Belong Together tells the story of a professor, played by Charles Malik Whitfield, who is caught between a new fling with a seductive student and his feelings for his estranged ex-wife. The college student, played by Draya, entices the professor into an intense situation-ship that eventually turns violent when the man decides he wants out.
The characters go through murderous trials in their relationships as they each fight for what they value. Essentially, the plot is similar to that of Beyonce's Obsessed or even Taraji P. Henson's Acrimony. The film is about love, sex, betrayal, and revenge.
This film is significant for the Draya Michele. The actress made her official television debut as part of the freshman cast of Basketball Wives LA in 2011. She stayed on the VH1 series until the end of its fourth season in 2015. Since then, she has made a few onscreen appearances, but nothing this big. Now, he is making history at the BET Network by starring in their very first original production.
