“Every night that I go and do a show in America, I tell them, ‘This is how the world is supposed to work.'"

After having to postpone his Monday night show in Toronto, Drake performed his first hometown tour date in support of Scorpion on Tuesday, and he made sure to let the crowd know how much they mean to him.

"I promise you that it never would have lasted this long if it wasn't for this city and your support and your love for all these years," he said as the "God's Plan" instrumental played behind him.

He went on to explain that the city had instilled certain values in him, ones that he's been bringing to his shows in the U.S. "I’m forever grateful, everywhere I go, I carry the values of this city with me,” he said. “Every night that I go and do a show in America, I tell them, ‘This is how the world is supposed to work.' Cause you see, tonight, we got 17,000 people inside one building from all races from all places, and all we are doing is just listening to music, and smoking and drinking and enjoying our lives. And I want you to know that that’s something that I learned right here in Toronto. That's how we've been doing our shit from day one... You made me the man I am today. You made me the artist I am today."

The Toronto show, which is his first of two this week (assuming a third date is not added Thursday), also featured a guest appearance from Travis Scott. Watch a clip from his performance here. The Aubrey & The Three Migos tour will continue its path through North America later this week, landing at New York's Madison Square Garden Friday.
