Drake might have a clean cut image but he still has some legal issues to tend to. The rapper was sued byproducer Detail from an incident in 2014 where the producer alleges that Drake's bodyguard, Chubbs, assaulted him. The trial is set to begin later this week, however, it seems as if a key component in the case has gone MIA.
Drake reportedly claims that Detail has gone missing right ahead of the assault trial that's set to begin this month, TheBlast reports. In documents they've obtained, Drake reportedly claimed that Detail was set for his deposition in February but didn't end up showing up or contacting Drake's team. Detail's legal team reportedly dropped him in December and because of that, Drake's side had to resort to contacting the producer directly but never heard back. In addition, the documents also say that the producer failed to show up to a medical examination for the case. Apparently, the judge has sanctioned Detail for his recent actions but the trial is still set to go on as planned.
This news comes shortly after reports claimed that Drake requested the judge add a social media ban to the case. The rapper motion read, "Due to the plethora of news stories available, and after observing Detail’s inclination towards muddying the waters by introducing said news stories during the deposition of Chubbs, Drake is concerned Detail may try to introduce the same stories at trial."
We'll keep you posted on more details about the case.
