Statistically speaking, there hasn't been an artist bigger than Drake in 2018. The Canadian rapper dominated both Spotify and Apple Music this year as the most streamed artist. "God's Plan" and Scorpion also topped each platforms' most-streamed song and album list. Despite Scorpion receiving luke-warm reviews at first, the majority of the people could admit that the song has grown on them. As he continues to push the project into 2019, the rapper has picked the next single off of the project.
According to Hip-Hop-N-More, Drake has picked "Mob Ties" as the next single off of Scorpion. The rapper picked "Don't Matter To Me" ft. Michael Jackson in October as the new single to follow "In My Feelings." The song was promoted to pop radio, but unfortunately, didn't pick up in the way that he and his team likely anticipated.
"Mob Ties" was an instant favorite off of Scorpion, peaking at #13 on the Billboard Hot 100. The single is set to be aimed towards the Urban radio initially, but given Drake's track record this year, it will end up catching on to Pop radio shortly after.
Last week, it was announced that Scorpion is nominated for Album Of The Year at the 2019 Grammys -- one of seven categories Drake was nominated in. The rapper is also nominated in Song Of The Year, Record Of The Year, Rap Performance Of The Year, and Best Rap Song categories.
