There has been much chatter about Drake's sideline antics during the NBA's Eastern Conference Finals. Drake reps for his Toronto Raptors team hard, especially as their Global Ambassador, but his behavior while courtside has warranted harsh responses from the Milwaukee Bucks' head coach Mike Budenholzer and the Bucks' forward Giannis Antetokounmpo's representative Georgios Dimitropoulos. The two men separately ripped the rapper for his "disrespectful" behavior.
"I don't know of any person attending the game that isn't a player or coach that has access to the court," Budenholzer said. "I don't know how much he's on the court. It sounds like you guys are saying a lot...There's certainly no place for fans—or whatever exactly is what Drake is for the Raptors—on the court. There's boundaries and lines for a reason. The league is pretty good about that."
Budenholzer's comment came shortly after Sports Illustrated reported that Dimitropoulous wrote, "Imagine a gig & an athlete on VIP seats, right next to the band, stands up on the stage just to show off during the entire game, knowing cameras are on him, occasionally even massaging the singer. Security&him both allow it. Never seen anything as disrespectful as this before..."
Drizzy couldn't care less what critics think of his actions because he took to Instagram to post a series of photos of himself at the game with the caption, "😂🧂🤷🏽♂️." It looks as if he's using emojis to convey that he finds it amusing that they're salty, but he doesn't really care. The rapper also liked a comment that reads, "Sports media needs to accept the simple rule the Miami Hurricanes signed into law back in the 80s: if you don't want the opposing team to celebrate and dance, prevent them from scoring, winning, or achieving their objective. Get over it and keep it moving."
The Raptors-Bucks series is tied at two and will resume tomorrow for Game 5 in Milwaukee at the Fiserv Forum.
