The buzz surrounding Drake's new album has been picking up steam over the last few days, with the rapper igniting rumors about some of his potential collaborators after posing for photos with the likes of Smokepurpp and others. While no details have been confirmed by either Drake or his representatives, the speculation continues to mount, especially after one picture in particular was shared by the Champagne Papi on Instagram that featured he and African artist Tekno seated side by side.
Though potentially an unknown commodity to many North American music enthusiasts, Tekno is an artist who has rapidly grown in popularity over the last couple of years. Born Augustine Miles Kelechi, his full stage name is Tekno Miles. A Nigerian singer-songwriter, producer, performer and dancer, he was born in Bauchi, Bauchi State, Nigeria, and is best known for his 2016 track "Pana." It seems as though his smooth, percussive vibes have caught the ear of Drake, who may have something cooking with the international hitmaker.
Captioning the photo with "Tekkkkkkkkkkkk time," Drizzy is keeping his lips sealed as to what this potential collab could sound like or even if there is one in the works. One thing is for sure: the Canadian's previous album/playlist, More Life, will be a tough act to follow. With tracks like "Fake Love," "Passionfruit," "Free Smoke," "Portland" and others dominating mainstream radio airplay for the better part of 2017, it was a stellar follow-up to Views and continues to set the bar high for all of Aubrey's future work.
