Well it appears the Lion King remake is officially underway. On Wednesday, comedian & actor Seth Rogen shared an awesome picture on his social media accounts of the cast of Lion King, which includes Donald Glover & Billy Eichner, along with director Jon Favreau. He captioned the pic with the lion and crown emoji, alluding to “Lion King.”
As previously reported, Donald will voice Simba in the live remake of the Disney classic, while Seth Rogen is appropriately casted as the class clown Pumbaa and Eichner is his sidekick Timon. Other stars set to make voice appearances in the film are Beyonce, John Oliver, John Kani, James Earl Jones, and more.
Speaking on his role and how he feels about singing alongside some big Hollywood names, Eichner praised the cast and had this to say: ”I was freaking out. I mean, the cast is amazing. Me and Seth Rogen are Timon and Pumbaa, so we do 'Hakuna Matata' and then we also sing 'Can You Feel the Love Tonight' with Simba and Nala, who are going to be voiced by Donald Glover and someone who is named Beyoncé."
The film is scheduled to come out July 19, 2019.
