In July, Harlem's own Don Mykel hopped on his latest single "N.W.O (New World Order), and now delivers on the visuals that accompany the powerful cut.
Directed by Daniel Friedman, the new music video finds Mykel as he moves around his stomping grounds, ready for battle as the clip switches between footage of riots and protests.
“This is the beginning of the cultural revolution,” says Don Mykel. “It’s time to switch the focus back to the art. In which reflects our current strifes, struggles and will to overcome. This is a message to the gate keepers. Fuck an image. Fuck a story. Let the music speak for itself. Let the cultural revolution begin.”
Produced by Scott Farlee, "N.W.O." captures perfectly the message that Mykel is set to portray. "Step in my coliseum if you dare/I am a god to demons, please beware," he dishes out.
The initial release of his "Return of The Don" track served as a preview to his forthcoming Infinite project, and "N.W.O. further adds to the aggression that he's been serving as of late--an agression that doesn't stay confined behind the mic as he's often decided to speak against the status quo.
"THE SO CALLED GATE KEEPERS WILL TRY AND STARVE YOU," he penned in a tweet. "IM PICKING THE LOCK COMING THROUGH THE DOOR BLASTING."
The emcee's Infinite project is expected to arrive on September 8th.
