DMX was a last minute replacement for Ja Rule in Staten Island.

By all accounts, DMX's appearance at a Staten Island supper club last night was a knee-jerk decision that worked out for all parties. Ja Rule, who held the January 26th booking at Mr. Ciao in Staten Island, was forced to pull out last minute for undisclosed reasons. Lucky for Mr. Ciao, a neighboring proposition would soon emerge due to DMX's sudden availability.

Not only was DMX performance on the night as effervescent as in year's past, Ciao probably got him at a comparable rate. Ja Rule and DMX run adjacent to one another, but that doesn't mean they cost the same: one boasting more bark than the other.

"DMX you saved the day,” the Mr. Ciao social media team wrote on Instagram. “Thank you to all that came to party see you February 10th for brunch." Thanks to DJ Finesse, additional footage of his "comeback concert" exists, by which we can deduce an abridged version of the setlist: "Party Up (Up In Here)," "Where's The Hood At?," and "Ruff Ryders Anthem" were all in play.

DMX has big plans now that he's back on the other side. Unfortunately for him, the Feds have tacked on a probationary clause which calls for three years of supervision before he is completely off on his own. And to think, the junkyard thought he'd met his match in the IRS. Kudos to DMX, keep 'em coming.
