French Montana recently shared his opinion on the controversy surrounding R. Kelly, detailing how he's allowed to enjoy his legacy despite the numerous outrageous allegations against his name. After the fact, French issued a statement clarifying that he's "with the victims" and how as a culture we need "better leaders."
It seems as though Three 6 Mafia's DJ Paul is on the same page as French initially was, telling TMZ that the musical career of one man is much different than his personal life. "His personal life should have nothing to do with [his music]," he said, as seen in the video below. "He got good music and music is medicine."
DJ Paul was later asked to describe just what R. Kelly's legacy means to him. "He's one of the kings of R&B, you know what I'm saying, there's a bunch of them out there but he's definitely one of them. That man's a legend."
He added: "The music is a whole separate thing, that's two different people."
Paul quoted one of the victims on the Lifetime series Surviving R. Kelly who said Robert and R. Kelly are two different people. "Whatever's going on in his personal life, the music's gone still be around."
